Sown To Grow (STG) is a K12 education technology platform that empowers schools to improve student social, emotional, and academic well-being through an easy and engaging reflection and feedback process. In a short weekly routine, students check-in emotionally and reflect on the strategies that are working best for them (or new ones to try!). They start with a focus on emotional well-being and sense of belonging, and expand to SEL competencies and academic goal-setting over time. School & district leaders access real-time reporting on students’ emotions and can proactively support student needs. The system also includes built-in SEL assessment, supporting curriculum, and powerful artifacts of growth.

Sown To Grow is seeking a Marketing Specialist / Senior Marketing Specialist who is excited to join a fast-growing startup and is passionate about scaling impactful, evidence-based student support practices. Our organization is in an exciting stage of growth, so the ideal applicant will have relevant experience building brand content, executing across multiple digital and traditional marketing channels, working with data to identify performance & trends, and collaborating on strategies to support lead acquisition. Someone who is comfortable collaborating on multiple projects at once, enjoys flexing different skills, and prefers learning through action will thrive in this role. This position will report to our Director of District & School Engagement and collaborate with the broader growth team.

Position Goals & Outcomes:

A strong contributor to Sown To Grow’s growth marketing process will…

  • Lead Generation & Pipeline Management:
    Develop and execute a multi-channel marketing strategy to build an effective upper-funnel pipeline of marketing-qualified leads. Track and attribute performance to optimize lead generation efforts.
  • Audience & CRM Management:
    Maintain an updated lead pool by understanding audience personas, sourcing relevant contact information, and managing/improving our CRM system effectively.
  • Content Development:
    Create and maintain a diverse content library, including written, visual, and video formats, to support marketing campaigns and the sales process. Develop and manage a content calendar.
  • Event Management:
    Organize and support events while engaging with our district and school partners. Share our story through various formats such as case studies, webinars, conferences, and hosted events.
  • Brand Storytelling:
    Evolve and communicate Sown To Grow’s brand story by testing and refining messaging for key school and district audiences across email, social media, and other digital channels.
  • Strategic Innovation:
    Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new marketing strategies (including paid, owned, and unconventional methods). Take ownership of key execution tasks for these strategies.

    Preferred experience or knowledge of the K-12 education system through work, study, or volunteer activities.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related area of study
  • 3+ years of prior experiences on a marketing or growth-contributing team

Compensation & Location:

Full-time base salary range = $85,000 - $100,000 + significant revenue-based / performance-based bonuses and equity compensation (incentive stock options or ISOs). San Francisco Bay Area or Los Angeles preferred, but open to a remote position (within the United States) for the right candidate.
